Oru Kudumbam, Oru Aparichitan, Orupadu Bhakshanam (One Family, One Stranger, Lots of Food) is an undergraduate thesis project developed as a graphic novel inspired by family photographs and the stories behind them. The project explores traditions, food, and everyday family life within a South Indian household.
Each story draws from moments captured in family photos, using food as a way to reflect on memory, relationships, and cultural identity. An imagined outsider, the aparichitan (stranger), is introduced as a way to question familiar rituals and look at them from a different perspective.
Wrote the story, created the illustrations, and designed the full book layout. The final project was produced as a printed and hardbound publication for university submission and personal archiving.
